Sue’s Florida Mahogany Spiral

I’m really not sure what kind of Mahogany this is, so I have taken liberties with its name. The tree was urban and grew in a subdivision outside Ft. Meyers. It was the victim of one of the several hurricanes, which swept through Florida in 2005.

My friend Sue McFarland saved some of the wood for me. This is my first spiral. It is of coarse inspired by the awesome work of William Hunter and was attempted only after Stuart Mortimer demystified the geometry and math involved in spiral work.
