Notes from the Artist:
I am a passionate photographer and don’t easily leave the house without my camera. Wherever I go I always look at scenes (and objects) and mentally think about the angle and lighting I would use to capture it.

It all started years ago…

My father was a passionate hobbyist photographer and as a child I remember accompanying him when he went looking for new scenes to shoot. It was then that my interest in photography was triggered and a love for capturing images was ignited. My dad bought me my first camera, it was an Olympus point and shoot. We created long lasting memories together!

As I became more skilled my expectations exceeded what my Olympus was capable of, so unbeknownst to me my husband bought me my 1st 35mm SLR for Christmas. There was no turning back for me then.

I did a few courses at a photography school in Cape Town and the world of photography seemed to finally open up its doors for me!

About five years ago I finally entered the digital age. It has opened up new possibilities that I could never have achieved with my 35mm.

I shoot anything and everything but I’m particularly fond of landscapes and macros. The far and near… the Alpha and Omega.

“Photography is like making cheese. It takes a hell of a lot of milk to make a small amount of cheese just like it takes a hell of a lot of photos to get a good one.” – Robert Gillis
