There are 3 specific types of media which user can add to their post (Image, Video, Audio)
There is also 2 type of general media which can be added as well. We will only discuss 1 of them in this post.
The general media type we will be discussing is simply referred to as “media”
The second general media type is referred to as “YouTube embedding” and is discussed on the Adding YouTube Media help page.
When posting an new entry you will see the following page:

The first icon will bring up a dialog box specific to image files.
The second icon will bring up a dialog box specific to video files.
The third icon will bring up a dialog box specific to audio files.
The forth icon will bring up a general media dialog box and try an determine whether the media type is an Image, Video or Audio. It is suggested that you always select the correct icon for your media type.
*** IMPORTANT WARNING *** After you have uploaded you image your will see the following screen:
You must click the “Insert into Post” button in order to insert the image into your post. If you simply click the “Save all changes” button the file will be saved to the media library and not inserted into the post.
